The CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advocating for the health and well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders and their families. Through comprehensive support programmes, CHOC provides psychosocial, emotional, and practical assistance to thousands of families across South Africa.
Founded in 1979 by Sister Sadie Cutland and a group of volunteers, CHOC has grown to become the leading childhood cancer organisation in South Africa. Their services include emotional support, practical assistance such as carebags, nutritional support, transportation, accommodation in CHOC homes, and educational programmes on early warning signs of childhood cancer. At any given time, CHOC cares for over 1,500 children and teenagers, while providing psychosocial support to families.
How You Can Support
As a non-profit, CHOC relies on donations and volunteer support to continue providing these essential services. By supporting CHOC, you help ensure that children battling cancer receive the care, comfort, and hope they need throughout their journey.
