Additionally, CHOC maintains a national network of 'homes-away-from-home,' providing free accommodation to children and their caregivers during grueling treatment cycles. Currently, CHOC supports thousands of children and teenagers annually, ensuring that no family walks the journey of childhood cancer alone.
Our Shared Impact
In recent years, CHOC has significantly expanded its reach, now supporting over 5,000 total beneficiaries annually across all nine provinces. Their work aligns with the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer, aiming to reach a 60% survival rate in South Africa by 2030. By providing over 34,000 bed nights and 100,000 meals a year, CHOC removes the practical barriers that often lead to treatment abandonment.
